Dear Absolute Casinos,
I have been a serious blackjack player for many years and have always taken the insurance bet. Accepting the insurance bet has stung my pocket on many occasions and I wanted to know the following: what are the real odds riding on an insurance bet?

Many Absolute Casinos staffers are fanatic blackjack players and have debated on this subject. The overall consensus was that novice blackjack players should never take the insurance bet because it stacks up at about 9% given 2 to 1 payoff. The only instance a player should take the insurance bet is if he is able to know how many tens are left in the deck. If the number of tens is low and you are an experienced player than take the insurance bet. |
